Canon 40D First Shots : My very first test shots with Canon 40D. Not that ofthen you get to see an image #0001:-) Of course, I could not think of a better subject for My Very First 40D Shot than my Helen :-), who was kind enough to oblige. This album allows you an access to the originals, 10.1Mp jpegs. Please only use it for educational purposes, no funny stuff. 2006-01-28: Diffuser Test #1 : First part of the diffusers test: relative quality, light fall-out and shadows. Canon 20D, EF 28-135 at 28mm, 1/125s, f/3.5, ISO100, tripod, wired remote. All shots taken inside the dining room with high ceiling (about 13 ft), at night (about 10 pm) with no other lights. Shots taken in "RAW+Large fine jpeg" mode, WB set to flash Each diffuser measured at 4, 9 and 15 feet, thus simulating head shot, above waist shot and full height/group shot. Legend for the test matrix: --------------------------- BI: built-in flash PP: built-in flash with ping-pong ball EX: "bare" 580EX OB: with Stofen Ombibounce SF: with LumiQuest mini-Softbox _1: +1EV in flash _45: at 45 degrees _451: +1EV and at 45 degrees

IR and Sepia : If you own IR-modified 828 and you're into B/W photography, removing x-nitecc1 filter (and switching to sepia if you want fast results) would dramatically improve your camera light sensitivity. Below are two sepia shots, one taken with filter on (F/2, 1/10sec) and one without (F/2, 1/40 sec). I also created very simple B/W out of them with Software 602 Photo Editor. No other processing was done. File names are self-descriptive:-)
